The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased the prize money for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner by 40%. The 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2024) offers a high-stakes competition with a generous prize pool, with the winner receiving $7 million and the runner-up receiving $4 million. These substantial rewards motivate participating nations, increasing the intensity and competitiveness of each match. The tournament organizers revealed that the consolation prize for the runner-up is also substantial.

Four losing quarter-finalists will receive $1.3 million each, while eight knocked-out teams will receive $800,000 each. Two teams that finished third but failed to advance will receive $700,000, and six teams that finished last in their groups will receive $500,000 each.
